At 17, I asked to be baptized into a cult to escape my emotionally abusive home life. At 26, I left everything I knew to rebuild my psyche from the ground up.
I was a diehard evangelical member. Leaving wasn’t just about faith – it was about dismantling an entire way of thinking. I had been sheltered from life, but I didn’t blame anyone but myself. (I don’t go into the specifics, for my safety.)
It’s been a long road back to feeling safe in my body and reclaiming my gifts.

Why ‘Saturdays We Wear Black’?
Wearing black on a Saturday is my symbol of devotion to truth. No matter how painful life gets, how tempting it is to shrink – we wear our scrappy darkness like armor and show up anyway.
Black = SATURN. SATURNday.
Saturn teaches patience and discipline through limitation (and often isolation). It asks us to face the truth of who we are.

Why does this matter to me?
I was born on a Saturday, under a Saturn-dominant chart, with a retrograde Saturn. An asteroid named “Claudia” conjuncts my natal Saturn by one degree, and my name itself means limitation.
In Human Design, my purpose is encoded in the Channel of Mutation (3-60), the process of overcoming chaos and restriction to birth something from nothing. This channel is defined in my Incarnation Cross (the heavy hitting theme in my life).
